Weekend Planning-Friday The 13th

This Friday just happens to be Friday The 13th.  It also just so happens that everybody and their moms are throwing a show.  It is pretty counterproductive for all these shows to occur on one night, and will surely make it hard for any of these artists to pull a huge crowd.  Nonetheless, there will be some amazing talent rocking at various venues around town, which event will you be checking out on Jason Voorhees' favorite day?

SP Double's Focus On SP Album Release Party

The venue has changed due to some roof problems at Pure, so now this party will be going down at The Climax Lounge (2217 Welton St).  It's only 8 bucks, and you'll get to see FOE, Spoke In Wordz, Foodchain, DJ Unison, Whygee and of course SP Double.  Also Free T-Shirts and Body Painting (which you know means nudity.)  Doors at 9.

Why This One: Good music, free shit and boobs...what more do you need?

Air Dubai with The Pirate Signal at the Marquis

Have you seen Air Dubai live yet? If you haven't, this is the show you need to go to! DAMN, they're impressive! Probably explains how they got themselves a Friday night headlining gig, with The Pirate Signal.  The Marquis is known for great sound and cheap beer, this event surely will be one for the books.  Doors at 7:30.

Why This One: Seriously, Air Dubai will blow your mind, and did I mention that PBR is cheap!

Westword's Best Of The West-Round 2 at Herman's Hideaway

This is a pretty hefty competition, people.  I hear there are 20K in prizes.  Nothing for any Colorado musician to turn their noses up at.  Round 2 of this comp. is Kruza Kid & The Contraband, Fresh Breath Committee, Swankstars (which if you don't know, is Ichiban's band) and Guerrilla Jazz.  Not only does attendance help these cats out, but you can also go here and vote for your favorite.  Doors at 8.

Why This One: Supporting Colorado talent (Only excuse you should need!)

Crown City Rockers and more at the Larimer Lounge

Not only the Crown City Rockers but LuckyIAm, ManeRok & DeeJay Tense, 3 The Hardway and DJ AWhat!  Larimer Lounge has that seedy indy rock feel that can be charming, and it seems to also translate over to Hip Hop without any miscommunication.  This bar is known to practically give away their beer, and generally gets pretty packed out.  Doors at 9.

Why This One: Cheap beer, great lineup, and did I mention...Cheap Beer!

I know, I know, too many shows...but we can all do our part.  Pick your favorite one or two and get your asses out and about!  Any of these choices will be that good time Friday night that everyone is looking for!
